The conference will take place on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Hilton Waikoloa Village resort.

Hilton Waikoloa Village has been named the #1 Top Family Resort in Hawaii and the #7 Top Family Resort in the United States and Canada by Travel + Leisure Family Magazine.

 

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Waikoloa at the government rate of $150 per night, single or double occupancy. This rate does not include tax which will be about 11.41%. Additional roommates are an additional $45 each plus tax. Children under 18 years old are free if they use the existing beds in the room. Breakfast is not included in this rate. To obtain this rate, all reservations must be made through our web reservations.

 

Hilton Location:

             The Hilton is about 20 miles north of the Keahole Kona International Airport through very desolate (but scenic) lava flows. There is only one road connecting Waikoloa to the airport;  expect at least 30 minutes of travel time. As there are no regular buses and no trains, driving (or being driven) are the only ground transport options.

           A regular taxi will cost about $41.00 one way from the airport. However, the Hilton has an arrangement with a company called "Laura's Taxi," which offers a fare of $20.00 per adult and $10.00 per child (12 years and under) for travel from the airport to the resort.

           There is also a shared-ride van service called "Speedy Shuttle."

They have a courtesy phone located outside of the baggage claim area at the airport which will connect you directly to their dispatcher.  Let them know the name of the group and where you are going (i.e., the Hilton Waikoloa).  They will send the van while you are getting your luggage.

Once you have it, proceed to the center traffic island in front of Hawaiian or Aloha Airlines for shuttle pickup. You may also make advanced reservations at +1-808-329-5433.  Their operating hours are 7:00 - 21:30.

Cost is based upon the number of people in your party:

           1 person to Hilton = $30.55

           2 people to Hilton = $32.74

           3 people to Hilton = $37.10

           4 people to Hilton = $40.37

           5 people to Hilton = $41.46

           6 people to Hilton = $44.74

           7 people to Hilton = $57.83

 

           Finally, the usual rental car companies are available at the airport - a compact car will cost about $35.00/day and is recommended for those who wish to explore the island on their own.  For those who do not have a car but want to see the sights there are many companies which will pick up and return guests to the hotel as part of a paid sightseeing excursion.
